Flasbback...Seven Months Ago! Dumaguete/Siguijor Trip

I think I'll be doing myself a great favor if I post these pictures taken during our Dumaguete and Siquijor escapades.

There are just so many of them. So here they are.

Day 1

The long but not-so-painful wait at the Cebu South Bus Terminal

...and this one too...
we didn't have much pictures when inside the bus enroute to Lilo-an Santander but we have these....

...just mocking around...

...but prior to that, let me show you this...

...a resort in Lilo-an Santander...the souther part of Cebu boasts of very good beaches....

...in the "city by the bay"...

...the renowned Rizal Boulevard with people doing their morning walk...

we had to stay at the guest house of the university where I used to study...

FOUNDATION UNIVERSITY

...yes, that's a mac.. they only use macs...

...inside BALAY SA ALUMNI...that is a framed photo of Vicente Sinco, the founder...

...at the university beside the sea...

...random pics inside Silliman University...

SU Main Entrance

view from SU Church straight to the sea

I don't know  for sure what they are doing

"init na daw kaayo. dali-a ang pagpicture"

her car

...so that's it, now time for them to eat...

...and so we went to ...
Gabby's Bistro at Florentina Homes

...ok...so when they eat, they eat a lot...lo! and behold...

...inside one of the restrooms in Florentina Homes...

...yes, you read it right...this is inside a restroom...

...that was quite taxing...that's day one...

Day 2

We had to wake up early to catch the earliest trip from Dumaguete to Siquijor. So what else do we have but these...

...the Dumaguete beachfront as seen from the port....

...the Island of Fire and Magic as seen from afar...

...Siquijor beachfront in Siquijor town...

"Welcome to Siquijor"

...this is the century-old Church of St. Francis Asisi in Siquijor town built in the 1800's...

...adjacent to the church is a belfry, both the church and the tower are strategically located to give visitors a grand welcome "with blessings and goodwill"...well, the tranquil beauty of the whole island is a blessing in itself...

...marching on, we proceeded to rent two motorcycles for us to tour the whole island...there are lots of motorcycle for rent near the port, so touring the island did not present much of a problem...

...and along the way, first stop...Capilay Spring Park....this is a spring park located in front of San Juan town hall...

...there was nothing much that we did here, except to eat our packed lunches, rest for a little while then leave...oh! and did I mentioned that this is located infront of San Juan town hall, so we decided... we could buy a map of the whole island at their tourism office... they gave it fre of charge as we were only getting one anyway...

...Next stop, Lazi, I visited the place a few years ago, so it was nice to back, there seemed to have little or no changes at all... it's still the same laidback and quaint old town that I once visited...

...we stopped by the St. Isidore Parish Church and Convent ...the convent is said to be the largest convent in Asia and one of the oldest too...

the convent is a huge edifice at the heart of the town

the gleaming wooden floor... i'm just intrigued as to what kind of wood it's coming from

just like most old churches in the Philippines, this one is made of corals too

...we visited the St. Isidore Parish Church and Convent ...the convent is said to be the largest convent in Asia and one of the oldest too...

...moving on to the magistic Cambugahay Falls...this is where Siquijodnons usually converge during the heat of the summer...

...sadly though, it was kind of raining so the water was not as sparkling crystal clear as it usually is...

...going down there was a bit tricky, but is there hesitation on their faces...

...one of the incentives of riding a motorcycle is that you get to experience this while driving...

...this is Salagdoong Forest on the way to Salagdoong Beach Resort...

...the sparkling waters at Salagdoong
we had to end our tour at Salagdoong then we headed back to Dumaguete...it only took us less than ten hours to tour the island...

...some pictures along the way...
